Honey roasted walnuts

Homemade honey roasted walnuts

I made these easy honey roasted walnuts to use a crunchy topping for this spinach raspberry salad. I was looking for something slightly different than the standard candied walnuts so I used honey and some chili powder.  These homemade roasted walnuts are also great in other salads or simply served as a snack.

Easy recipe for homemade honey roasted walnuts, a modern version of candied walnuts

Servings: 1 cup of honey roasted walnuts

Ingredients

  • 1 cup walnuts
  • 2 tbs honey
  • ¼ cup sugar
  • ½ tsp chili powder
  • ½ tsp salt

Instructions

  • Pre-heat oven to 350 F
  • Mix the walnuts and honey together until the walnuts are all covered with honey
  • Mix the sugar, chili powder and salt
  • Toss the walnuts with the sugar mix and place the walnuts on a parchment paper covered cookie sheet
  • Bake for about 15-20 minutes, turning the walnuts at least once during that time

Notes

Can also be made with other nuts (pecans, almonds, peanuts, etc)
