Limón dulce or sweet lemon is citrus fruit that is very common in Ecuador. It looks like a rounder version of a lemon, but it’s taste is very sweet and not acidic at all. On our farm in Vilcabamba we have several of these fruit trees. You can cook with sweet lemons, but the best way to eat them is to just pick one off the tree, peel it and eat it directly.

I just found out that the tree that we have in our back yard is a sweet lemon tree. They’re so goood.
I had something very similar in Bolivia (Santa Cruz de la Sierra, specifically) Larger than a regular lemon, but sweet, almost like lemonade.
Just saw these at Compare foods, got one, it’s amazing! Kind of like a very mild orange but lemon-lime flavored, a tiny bit sweet and not tart at all.
