Fue inventada en 1927 en Paysand\u00fa, Uruguay, por una confiter\u00eda llamada \u00abLas Familias\u00bb. Se dice que un grupo de trabajadores de la confiter\u00eda buscaba crear un postre que representara a la regi\u00f3n y as\u00ed naci\u00f3 la torta Chaj\u00e1. La torta Chaj\u00e1 es un orgullo de la cocina uruguaya y una delicia que vale la pena probar si visitas Uruguay o si visitas un restaurante uruguayo en tu pa\u00eds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">\u00bfC\u00f3mo se prepara la Torta Chaj\u00e1?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">No voy a mentir diciendo que es extremadamente sencilla o r\u00e1pida de preparar, porque conlleva suficiente tiempo y requiere algunas habilidades de cocina. Cuando el bizcocho est\u00e9 fr\u00edo, lo cortas en capas (de dos a tres \u2013 nosotros lo hicimos de dos capas). Luego ba\u00f1as ese bizcocho con alm\u00edbar de duraznos y lo reservas. Te armas de paciencia y haces los discos de merengue, los cuales deber\u00e1s hornear a fuego muy bajo (m\u00e1ximo 100\u00b0C) por una o dos horas. Ahora es momento de batir la crema chantilly hasta que triplique su tama\u00f1o, cortar los duraznos, calentar un poco el dulce de leche y ahora s\u00ed, \u00a1el armado! Una capa de bizcocho, una capa de dulce de leche, el disco de suspiro, crema chantilly y duraznos. Esto solo es una capa, deber\u00edan ser dos a tres as\u00ed, en este caso me limit\u00e9 a hacer dos capas, en parte porque no iba a tener espacio en la refri de haberlo hecho de tres capas. As\u00ed que, para la torta Chaj\u00e1, recomiendo comprar los merengues ya horneados. Ciertamente, no conseguir\u00e1s los discos, pero puedes cortar los merenguitos en trozos y listo. Igualmente, con la crema chantilly, puedes comprar las pr\u00e1cticas latas de chantilly listas para usar y te ahorrar\u00e1s un mont\u00f3n de trabajo. He hecho las dos versiones, y aunque podr\u00eda decir que me siento orgullosa de mis discos de merengue, luego de armada la torta, existe muy poca diferencia entre una y otra.
