A fanesca leva uma quantidade grande de gr\u00e3os, alguns que s\u00e3o encontrados apenas nos Andes da Am\u00e9rica Latina, e no geral \u00e9 preparada com gr\u00e3os frescos. \u00c9 claro que \u00e9 muito dif\u00edcil encontrar gr\u00e3os frescos nos EUA e na Europa, por isso pode substitu\u00ed-los por gr\u00e3os congelados no caso das favas, ervilhas, feij\u00f5es-de-lima ou gr\u00e3os secos no caso dos feij\u00f5es brancos. O Equador tem uma grande variedade de feij\u00f5es e diferente de outros lugares, l\u00e1 \u00e9 poss\u00edvel encontrar esses feij\u00f5es frescos, para descascar e cozinhar.
